The White Mountain National Forest

A misty mountain landscape covered in dense green forest under a cloudy sky.

Hiking

Enjoy easy access to some of the region’s best hiking, including Franconia Notch, the Kinsmans, and Mount Moosilauke. Most major trailheads in the western White Mountains are within a 30‑minute drive, making Hemlock Ridge an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts.

Day by the River

In the summer months, guests can cool off in the crystal‑clear waters of nearby mountain streams, including the Wild Ammonoosuc, Tunnel Stream, and the Pemigewasset. These refreshing spots offer the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the White Mountains.

Enjoy a Picnic

Relax and take in the vibrant fall foliage with a peaceful picnic at Wildwood, Beaver Pond, or Echo Lake—each offering its own stunning backdrop of autumn color.
